BASIC ELECTRICITY

ELECTROSTATICS, COULOMB'S LAW, ELECTRIC FIELD, GAUSS'S THEOREM, CONCEPT OF POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE, CONCEPT OF CAPACITANCE, CAPACITOR.

ELECTROSTATICS:

Deals with the phenomena associated with electricity.

LAWS OF ELECTROSTATIC:

Coulomb's Law:
1st Law: Like charges of electricity repel each other Unlike charges attract each other.

2nd Law: Force exerted between the point charges is  (Q1, Qo).

ELECTRIC FIELD INTENSITY:

The region in which electric forces are acting is called electric field.

GAUSS LAW:

This law states that the electric flux. Emanating force a closed surface is always equal to the charge enclosed by the surface.
  • ψ = Q1+Q2      (Q1, Q2, Q3 are charges)

ELECTRIC POTENTIAL & POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE:

POTENTIAL:-  Work done/ Charges   Volt.
  • The potential at any point  due to Q charge is = Q/μπ∈d Volt.
  • Electric potential at infinite distance is zero.
  • Potential difference between two points: Vab = Va - Vb = Q/μπ∈ [1/r1 - 1/r2] Volt.
